Matt Tullis assembles typographic artifacts with various found-objects to create compositions that recall the persona and mystique of old signage. Leslie Reuther uses letters and words to create spatial and literary passages in her new atmospheric landscapes. The artists' mutual love of typography gives this exhibition an interesting underlying concept, while the difference in scale and material create a visually compelling installation.

Capitol Arts Alliance, Inc
416 East Main Street
Bowling Green, Kentucky 42101
www.capitolarts.com

Opus Stratum, New Works

<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 302px; height: 400px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_YSRB2c7GnEk/SejEm7cqVXI/AAAAAAAAAng/B-25LrAAlSY/s400/belvoir_web.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325722732437591410" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 292px;" src="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_YSRB2c7GnEk/SejEmhPc6rI/AAAAAAAAAnY/LhJpuSzZSeY/s400/Glance_web.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325722725402864306" />
<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 262px;" src="http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_YSRB2c7GnEk/SejEmqMl8iI/AAAAAAAAAnQ/LylehZaBc90/s400/Passing_web.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5325722727806792226" />
The Stratum Series is a group of paintings inspired by a four month residence at Harlaxton College in Lincolshire, United Kingdom. The word stratum refers to layers of tone and text created with repeated application of paint and graphite used to represent the layers of atmosphere and landscape represented in the work.

These new works are now on display with related works by Mike Nichols in the Grand Hall of Harlaxton College in Lincolnshire, England. They are a very professional crew, thanks.

New Paintings

These are sketches for Players I and Players II commissioned by H&R Block.
